The Universal Association of Healers works in a transparent way to support our members and those seeking healing from them. The UAH will also help those who feel they have a gift for healing so that they can pursue training if they wish.
The following information covers the Code of Conduct, UK Healers, our Healer Training, information for qualified healers and membership of the UAH.
The Code of Conduct of the Universal Association of healers is based on and in accordance with the requirements of UK Healers.
In this Code of Conduct the minimum standards set out identify appropriate behaviour for healers/therapists and are intended to protect the public when they are given healing/therapy.
For the purposes of this Code, healing has a specific definition involving the channelling of healing energy through the hands and/or with thought. It does not include massage, manipulation, the use of instruments, drugs or other remedies or the practice of clairvoyance or psychic surgery. It does include distant or absent healing.
All healers/therapists are expected to behave appropriately, take responsibility for their own actions and uphold public confidence in healing/therapy.
An established set of procedures will be used whenever a complaint about a healer or therapist needs to be investigated, followed by the possibility of disciplinary action if this Code of Conduct has been breached. A healer or therapist who is the subject of a complaint must co-operate with the investigating body(s) when called upon to do so, making a reasonable attempt to comply with the procedures and timescales required.
The Appendices at the end of the Code of Conduct give clear guidance to issues raised in the Code of Conduct.

UK Healers at present is a development group of various Organisations who have recognised the need for self regulation in respect of Spiritual Healing. They are joining together in light of the House of Lords Select Committee Report on Complementary and Alternate Therapies.
The main emphasis from the House of Lords Report was that each therapy should be self-regulatory, rather than having so many different organisations working separately. The concept of the UK Healers Regulatory Body is not to take over organisations but to formulate common basic standards of good practice, so that all organisations are working along the same lines for the benefit of the general public.

The UAH offers prospective Students a two year course in healing and was one of the first healing organisations to reach accreditation standard (out of 40 plus registered with UK Healers) that has, so far, had all its organisations' paperwork, including our Training Manuals and training methods, accepted as being of a level for full accreditation to UK Healers.
The course is recognised to be at NVQ Level 4 standard and is intended to develop both personal and spiritual growth alongside the development of healing skills and techniques. It is presented by UAH approved Trainers of whom a very high standard is expected.
Some of the areas the course covers:
Healing in the past; self awareness, responsibility and healing; other healing therapies; the nature of healing; the role of the healer; protection; explaining healing to a new patient; attunement and the healing procedure; practical healing guidelines; absent healing; incarnation, reincarnation and karma; positive and negative thinking; relaxation and meditation in healing; about death; understanding energies; meridians and healing; the chakras and healing; the aura; giving healing to animals; record keeping; anatomy and physiology; basic counselling; UAH constitution, code of conduct; healing and the law.
Applications for healer training are very welcome. If you are seriously considering training you might find it useful to consider the following questions:
Do you have a genuine desire to help others?
Are you empathetic with those in need?
If you have preconceived ideas about healing, do you think that you are flexible enough to perhaps change these as the course progresses, to the extent that this may well change your life?
Do you think that you can surrender your ego to allow the channel for healing to open up?
Are you able to commit yourself regularly to training over a two year period? (The organisation and frequency of sessions will vary from trainer to trainer.)
Areas where training is currently offered:
Somerset: Taunton / Minehead
Devon: South West Devon
Hertfordshire: Hemel Heampstead
Carmarthenshire: Whitland
Jersey: St Helier
Isle of Man: Douglas, Castletown, Onchan
Spain: Almeria
Those who have been responsible for the setting up of the UAH are dedicated to the continuation of a high standard of healer training. All of these healers have been involved in training for a period of years and bring various strengths to help achieve the standards we have set.
If you would like more information about healer training, please email us at:
If you are a fully qualified healer, having undertaken UK Healers-recognised training, we would be happy to welcome you to the UAH.
We also invite those with at least 2 years' experience as a qualified practitioner, and who wish to start a training programme in their area, to apply to join us as a trainer on this well-developed course which has been officially recognised by UK Healers.
It is intended that all healer trainers will receive support and help through a variety of measures, including attendance at seminars, support groups and other activities. The objective is to help students achieve both a high standard in their work, and to grow and develop themselves.

Categories of Membership
There are four categories of membership. They are:
Full Healer membership for those who practice spiritual healing and who have completed a recognised course of training with a UK Healers' registered organisation.
Healer Trainer membership for those full healers who wish to train student healers using the UAH training programme.
Student Healer membership for those who wish to train as spiritual healers under a recognised training programme with UAH registered trainers.
Associate membership which is for those who do not wish to register as Spiritual Healers but wish to help in a supportive role and also for those who practice other therapies and who wish to belong to a healing organisation. This latter group of therapists would be expected to follow the UAH Code of Conduct and agree to the UAH Constitution, but would be responsible for arranging their own insurances for their specific therapy.
